🌿 Cala Pi – Majorca
Cala Pi is one of the quieter places on Majorca – and that's precisely what makes it so special. Instead of extensive infrastructure, you'll mainly find nature, a few well-maintained houses, and a fjord-like bay with crystal-clear water and a small sandy beach.
Access is via a long staircase with about 140 steps. Once you reach the bottom, you'll be greeted by the view of Cala, framed by rocks: sand, sea, pine trees, and a few boats in the water. Nothing more is needed here.
If you're looking for a beach on Majorca with lots of amenities or entertainment, Cala Pi is not the place for you. The bay is calm, the water clear, and the beach slopes gently – ideal for anyone who simply wants to swim, bathe, or spend a relaxing day by the sea. Families, in particular, appreciate the sheltered location and calm water.
Cala Pi is not a classic holiday resort. There is only a small hotel above the bay and a supermarket belonging to it, where you can get the essentials for the day. No promenade, no beach clubs, no large complexes – just a clear, simple, and authentic atmosphere.
Especially in the summer months, it's advisable to come early or in the late afternoon. The beach is small and can quickly become crowded.
You get a particularly beautiful view of the bay from above. Behind the small fishing houses, stairs carved into the rock – some without railings – lead up to the plateau. From there, the view extends over the entire bay, the open sea, and the old pirate tower on the opposite side. If you follow the path along the coast, you will eventually reach the small, somewhat hidden Cala Beltrán, and if you're lucky, you'll have this secret bay all to yourself.
In Cala Pi, there are a few small, charming restaurants that are only open during the season from March to the end of October.
We particularly recommend two of them: Sa Terrassa, with a good selection of fish and meat dishes, and the Sportsbar Onebyone for uncomplicated evenings with burgers and cocktails. Both are within walking distance and fit the quiet character of the place. Reservations are recommended!
Cala Pi is not a place you "check off" your Majorca bucket list. It's more of a place you return to – because it stays exactly as it is. Small and charming – without mass tourism, but with plenty of nature and flair.
